Natural Factors
- It's a fact of nature: no two pieces of wood are exactly alike — even from the same tree.
- The naturally occurring color and grain differences mean that each piece will respond differently when finished.
- These variations contribute to the beauty and distinction of natural woods.
- Even though all cabinet materials are graded to an industry standard, variations in texture, color and wood grain should be expected.
Environmental Factors
- Over time, exposure to sunlight, smoke and chemicals may cause some materials to fade or vary from their original color.
- Cabinets or accessories added at a later date may not exactly match the original ones.
- Door samples or displays will also change over time and may not represent the exact color of cabinets you receive.
- Because of these natural and environmental factors, B&T Kitchens and Baths cannot be responsible for texture differences or color and wood grain variations in the wood or laminate materials used in your cabinets.
- Over time, Ultraviolet light rays may affect the appearance of your kitchen cabinets and countertops.
- Temperature & Humidity changes have been known to affect cabinetry and countertops and such are not covered under warranty. This includes seams in cabinets, trim, caulking, etc.
Care and Cleaning
- Dust kitchen and bathrrom cabinets frequently with a soft lint-free cloth.
- Clean spills immediately. Do not allow spills to sit on any products as they may damage the products.
- We sell the products designed to clean cabinetry and countertops. Please contact us to purchase these products.
- We recommend that you wash & polish your cabinets at least once each year. You can use the cabinetry care kit available at B&T Kitchens & Baths to perform these tasks.
- Be sure to read all cabinet care guidelines carefully before cleaning.
- Never use detergents, soap pads or steel wool on your cabinetry or countertops.
- All Melamine and Thermafoil products can be cleaned using a soft cloth dampened with a cleaning solution such as “Formula 409” or “Simple Green”.
- Self cleaning ovens are cleaned through the use of intense heat and this can damage cabinetry and countertops. To reduce the risk of damage, we recommend removing all doors and drawers on cabinets near the oven prior to starting the self cleaning process.
- Small heat-producing appliances can also be harmful to cabinetry. We recommend that you do not place any heat-producing appliances beneath or inside any cabinetry.
- Hot items should not be set directly on kitchen cabinets or countertops…always use a heat shield to reduce risk of damage.
- Caulking & proper door and drawer adjustments should be monitored by the owner and repaired as needed.
- Pay special attention to seams in laminate countertops as they must be kept clean and free from moisture.
- Most individual warranties do not cover natural aging or darkening of wood color, the inherent growth characteristics of, or variation in wood, products purchased without a finish, normal wear and tear, or damage caused by misuse, abuse, negligence, alteration, non-residential use, or improper storage or handling.
- Scratches, dings and other damages to the products provided by B&T Kitchens & Baths are not covered under any type of warranty.
- Replacement parts, touch up kits, cleaning & polishing kits and many other items may be purchased from B&T Kitchens and Baths.
